Thought I would make up this arrangement with the berry picks I bought and twigs Saturday at the rummage sale, also if you click on the picture to make it large you will see the rustic birds I bought and placed them in the arrangement. Iron Stone Tea Set

I got the bug to do some thrifting, found this antique iron stone tea set for $2.95 during lunch. Also I saw a chair leave the thrift store today that was to die for, as I watched it go into another persons car, I was already dreaming of where I was going to put it, darn if I had just been a few minutes earlier.

In the mood to change my fire place mantel, found this strawberry carrier antiquing for $15.00. I decided to go shopping at one of my favorite shops and she had these moss covered balls marked down and had ordered new greenery which looks so real, you would have to touch it to see if it was real or not. I love to change things out often and rearrange things,who knows what will be up there next week. Have a great Sunday.

I know it's been awhile but believe it or not i am still taking classes for my job. I hope you all don't get discouraged. Remember the table, it's now on my porch, found this old milking bucket out antiquing and thought i would fill it with black-eyed susan. After i did this i realized it matched the table. Found this table for $15.00 and decided i would put it in my bathroom, the little boy statue i found at the goodwill for .50 cents. The table has iron feet and it has years of patina on it. I love browns and creams together.

I found a place for my white table, in my kitchen but my husband not to keen on the idea. I told him we will leave it for a while to see if we like it. He likes everything clean and sparing, me the more the merrier. Also the cabinet and the arrangement is over my toilet in the bathroom. The shaving cabinet is a 1800's piece i found at an auction awhile back the arrangement i did myself. Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!!!

I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day! I thought i would treat myself for Mother's Day bought a table on sale for $20.00. It's a firescreen table. This will go on my front porch between 2 antique wicker rockers. Now i will have a place to set drinks. This can also be used in front of your fireplace during the summer.

Perennial Garden

I have really gotten into more gardening this year and landscaping. I'm getting ready to take a spot on the side of my house were there are big trees and nothing grows under it and plant a perennial garden with large rocks and a rusty patina bird bath, i have also found a fountain that i want for a place between my house and garage. After work today, I decided to take some pictures, I notice in the back yard all the leaves and dogwoods in bloom. It just was so peaceful and the lake was shinning like diamonds. So relaxing after a day at work.

Farm Table Redo

Hope everyone had a great weekend, it has been so beautiful here. Thought i would share a project I did on this old farm table. The farm table had been orange and then they tried to paint it a brown color. I decided I wanted it to be cream, so I sanded and painted it with a cream satin paint and then distressed the heck out of it. I love the results. Now i don't know if i want to put it on my back porch, let my daughter have it as a desk or use it in my kitchen.

At lunch today I decided I needed a little thirfting. I found this old metal plate "The Charms Of Country Living" and a small picture stamped Brooks and Streams. The sconce is heavy brass. I love how all of the golden rusty patina works together.

Love these pictures, I would like to have another pond someday. I had one at our old house, I did everything, I even dug all the dirt myself, gathered rocks of the side of the road to planting all the flowers. When we sold the house the one thing they talked about was my pond. It wasn't a large pond but very manageable.

Sorry I haven't been posting, but I have been in training for a new job with test every day and driving 2 hours a day I have been to tired. I have 4 more weeks, boy has my brain been challenged. On the way home today I needed some inspiring, so I did a little shopping and bought this cute stick thing, you can fold it up and you can put anything down in it. The bunny I couldn't resist. The flowers are down in a nest. I thought they looked so springy.

Hey I'm back!!! My computer has been sick with a virus and we had Dr. Norton to help him. We have had trouble with alot of our files. With training for a new job and not being able to blog has been stressful. The picture of the wrought iron piece is a goodwill find for $10.00, it is a old piece that hangs as a coat rack. I might use this as a pot rack, this would be great hanging over my island. The secretary is a piece I have in my kitchen that I purchased 4 years ago, it is all custom hand painted. I really enjoy mixing hand painted furniture with dark woods.

My Back Yard

It was soooo...... beautiful today and the lake looked almost like the ocean so blue green. I love living on the lake it is so refreshing and calming. The underneath of the house still has to be rocked and another deck built, sorry if it looks unfinished. We are trying to do all these projects ourselves.

Entrance To The Village Of Voisins 1872--Pissarro

I wanted to tell you guys a story about these paintings. The painter is Pissarro he was a famous Caribbean born french painter 1830-1903. I didn't know all this when I bought these at an auction 1 1/2 years ago. I just liked the frames. My husband saw them he couldn't sleep until he found out more. We had them appraised local auctioneer who is on antique road show, he appraised them at $150.00 each not original. He said if they were it would retire him and myself for life. They would be worth over million each. WOW!! But we contacted art gallery in New York, they were willing to give us $650.00 each because they are early repo's. I bought them for $5.oo each with the antique frames. You never know what you might find. I decided I would keep them.

I thought I would give you all a preview of a project I'm getting ready to take on. My daughter's bedroom. These are the inspiration pieces, I'm going to paint her furniture this creamy off white. I want to do it in tone on tone colors, tea dipped lace and very girly. She will be 13 next month and she is ready for a change. Went shopping today looking for a brown and cream zebra print rug, cowhide....no luck. I guess I'll look on eBay.

I have had this piece all over my house, on my tub in my great room, but I decided I wanted to get crafty, so I gathered things I had and made this arrangement for my bistro table. I love to make arrangements out of real flowers from my yard but I'll have to wait til spring.

I decided to empty my corner cupboard of fine china, and pack it away. I am really getting into finding ironstone. The ironstone in the cabinet is what I have found over the past month, except the 2 small pitchers. It is so much fun to collect and to hunt for treasures you love. Blessings

Well this is the stuff I got on my antiquing adventure. The mirror is a antique, I love the detailed work in it. The lady at the thrift store told me it had another mirror and a bench that went with it but she had sold it. THEN......a antique shop had dropped off all this ironstone at a YMCA thrift store. I got so excited that I had another lady helping me look for more.

Went to visit my mother yesterday, and look what I came back with, she said i am tired of polishing it, POLISHING IT bring on the patina!!!! This is a antique tea and coffee set that she has had for a long time. I thought it was sweet of her to want me to have it. The candelabra is a antiquing find 2 weeks ago. Really have never collected silver but I'm starting to like it.

This is one of my hanging lamps I embellished, the pin was made by a friend that makes french silk ribbon pins I added it to the lamp, and added antique buttons. Maple Corner Cupboard

This is the corner cupboard that i was talking about for the opposite side of the office. I got so excited when i found this. I knew i was going to paint this black. This was found antiquing for $35 it is a solid piece of maple. I intend to hang my jewelry in it after i make it. I'm looking now for a small table, rug, accessories. I'm almost finished! YAHOO!!!!

Another bird nest, love them. I wanted to show you this small antique cemetery basket I found antiquing, I have never seen any this small. I am going to use it to but a small vase with flowers in it come spring and put it on my french bistro table. It is amazing how just something so simple can make a person happy.

Deborah at the "The Painted Nest" inspired me with this vignette. I found this cedar chest at a thrift store, the birds are from a specialty shop, the nest is a small grapevine wreath with flowers put in it and the bird nest I made out of moss. I added a antique spread, wood decorative piece and a tassel. Just think what you could add to a small box.

Check out this frame no damage, the picture has a small place at the top. I wanted an antique oil painting of sheep in a pasture, but not in my budget.
