Well this is the stuff I got on my antiquing adventure. The mirror is a antique, I love the detailed work in it. The lady at the thrift store told me it had another mirror and a bench that went with it but she had sold it. THEN......a antique shop had dropped off all this ironstone at a YMCA thrift store. I got so excited that I had another lady helping me look for more.

Silver Tea Set

Went to visit my mother yesterday, and look what I came back with, she said i am tired of polishing it, POLISHING IT bring on the patina!!!! This is a antique tea and coffee set that she has had for a long time. I thought it was sweet of her to want me to have it. The candelabra is a antiquing find 2 weeks ago. Really have never collected silver but I'm starting to like it.

Door Decor

What's on your door greeting guests? I just got tired of the winter wreath that was on my door, and wanted something with color. I know you have seen this picture of this arrangement before, but I decided it would look nice on my front door.

Small Box Vignette

Deborah at the "The Painted Nest" inspired me with this vignette. I found this cedar chest at a thrift store, the birds are from a specialty shop, the nest is a small grapevine wreath with flowers put in it and the bird nest I made out of moss. I added a antique spread, wood decorative piece and a tassel. Just think what you could add to a small box.

Accessories

This is an old ashtray that my mom had, I took the handle off, painted it black and distressed it. The candle I dipped for more of a old world look. The greenery is from a specialty shop. This made a great accessory for my desk.

Antique Frame And Picture

It is late, but I couldn't stand it!! I had to post this great find. I have been sitting at a auction for 4 hours and finally I bought this picture. Check out this frame no damage, the picture has a small place at the top. I wanted an antique oil painting of sheep in a pasture, but not in my budget.

Antique Table To French Desk

Well here is the desk, It is a antique table that I thought would make a wonderful desk. It took 3 men and myself to get it up the stairs, very heavy piece. When I got this it look like something that came from grandmother's house, but when I painted it black and distressed it, instant FRENCH. It also has a hidden leaf under it so I can make it bigger. Instead of a polyurethane I used a wax rub, love the results. Don't pass up those old tables, they make a wonderful desk.

Spin On A Grapevine Wreath

I thought I would show you a spin on a grapevine wreath. This was fun to make, you could add anything you like to the wreath, you also could use any type of container. I love to shop at a specialty shop in my area for all the flowers and greenery.

More Decorating

This is what I have so far on one side of the room. It looks better if you can see it all together. I had purchased these lamps when I had my store and I liked them so much I keep them. I like how the brown breaks up all the black. Next will be the desk, rug, corner cabinet and accessories.

Painted Mirror And Vintage SuitCase

The mirror is an antique I bought at an auction. I forgot to take a before picture, just imagine it gold. I distressed this mirror so some of the original gold would show. The suitcase is vintage, it was cream and I wanted it to look more like an old leather case. Don't know if it looks like leather, but it looks like the old travel look I was going after.

Office Chair

This is going to be my office chair. It is a antique chair, and I love the tufted look with the french legs. I had purchased this chair back a few months ago and now I have a purpose for it. Yes this is another thrifty find $15.00.

Before And After

Before and after pictures of the chair. I decided I liked the cover on the seat, but I might change it. The cover matches the distressed finish on the painted piece. I painted the chair and distressed it lightly, I like furniture with a little distress look. So far I have two pieces, next will be the mirror and for my desk, I have a antique table that will be painted.

Small Basket Arrangement

I had fun today making up this small arrangement. The basket has two antique spreads, small angel, and a small vintage looking picture. I decided it needed a bow, brown silk. I'm thinking about giving this to one of my special friends and putting dove chocolate in with it. I liked this vignette so much, I thought I would use it for my banner.

My Romantic Home-Center Piece Party

Cindy at My Romantic Home is having a party. The center piece I did was things found around the house. I used an antique table cloth bunched up, a serving tray, a dome from my great room, and flowers and greenery, I borrowed from another arrangement. I also found the heart box at a thrift store and put it in the dome. This was a fun project!

Office/Studio Makeover

Well guys, I'm going to decorate my office and take you through the process. The black piece is my inspiration piece. I'm doing my office in a french black look. The black piece is a hand painted piece by Pulaski Furniture. I will be painting some pieces to add to the room. The chair below is a antique french chair that I will paint black and recover, found this at the thrift store. I also will be painting a antique mirror bought at an auction. As you know by now I have a log home. My decorating is different than most log homes. I love to decorate in old world, french, farmhouse decor. The painted furniture and dark woods accent the logs. Love wrought iron also.

The lamp I found at a goodwill, can you believe it. They had a pair and another lady bought the other one. I wish I could have gotten them both. This is a old lamp, with a new lamp shade from Big Lots. You can find almost anything at that store. The tassel came from Tuesday Morning. A tassel just dresses up a lamp don't you think?

Old Rose Plates

I love these plates, I found these several months ago while I was thrifting and antiquing. They are stamped on the back old rose, John Maddocks and sons England. I thought they would look good in the cabinet I bought. I would like to purchase more of these but can't find them.

Sunday Eye Candy

Don't you just love potting sheds. I could play in this one for hours. What can I say about flowers, they could make a rusty can look good. They really do look good in old buckets with some curly willow branches added with them.
